Chatting with a friend the other day, it was brought to my attention that there are some people that don't have that one weird friend that they get to talk about Spirits, Angels, and the metaphysical world and all of the things that my friends and I talk about. Clairvoyant from the French, from clair ‘clear’ + voyant ‘seeing’ (from voir ‘to see’)
It makes me chuckle a little when I think about that definition. Me, clear sight? Ha! My human eyesight is terrible; I am nearly legally blind in one eye with coke-bottle thick lenses on my glasses. As a kid, I endured years of vision therapy in a vain attempt to get my eyes to focus together, not realizing this was the key to unlocking my gift. It took me until the 27th year of my life to understand why my vision was so awful and why it is truly one of my most important assets. Through meditation and conversation with Spirit, I came to the understanding that my body’s natural state was for my eyes not to focus, which is what allows me to truly “see”. By my eyes not focusing on an object, I am able to see around the object, almost as if I am viewing it from another dimension. |
