Creating Effective Vision Boards

​Have you ever made a vision board? This is quite a popular New Year's activity to help envision the year ahead.

A vision board visually represents what a person desires to bring into their life. Most desires in life are unspoken and unseen, just a thought until life is spoken into it. Creating a vision board allows thoughts to become concrete concepts vs. intangible ideas.

Making Vision Boards

A person should include anything they wish to bring into their life on a vision board. Every person has different desires and goals in life; therefore, each vision board will reflect the individual's deepest desires. Vision boards may include tangible items you want in your life, like a vacation, clothes, home, car, or pet. However, your vision board may also have intangible things such as a relationship, your ideal job, or enhanced inner guidance. 

A vision board is a mood board; the colors, images, and terms should emulate the mood that you want to project into the coming year. Many people choose to make their vision board into a collage with photos, words, and phrases cut from magazines. Your vision board can be as simple or as ornate as you want it to be. Even a photograph with words can be just as powerful. 

Enhancing Effectiveness ​

There are a couple of ways to enhance the effectiveness of the vision board. One of those is to use technology to your advantage—create a digital vision board that can be easily updated and reworked as you achieve goals. A digital vision board can be used as a computer, phone or tablet wallpaper, or lock screen. 

You can create digital vision boards on websites such as Pinterest or Canva. For example, Pinterest allows you to create "pinboards" organized by theme, which is an excellent tool for manifesting something detailed like a house, vacation, or dream wedding. Likewise, Canva is a perfect tool for creating custom vision boards with virtually unlimited tools at your disposal.

Another great way to work with your vision board is to visualize each element. Take some time and envision what each aspect of your vision board would look like, sound like, feel like, (and smell, and taste like, if applicable!). Doing this helps to bring forth greater clarity in what you wish to have and helps to provide the detail to the Universe to deliver exactly what you desire. 

A vision board is a map that shows the Universe what is essential to you and what you desire. If what you want is of your highest and best good, the Universe will conspire to make it so.
