When we talk about "eating the rainbow", sometimes we can get stuck on the basics, like what other foods are naturally orange besides, well oranges?
Of course, naturally orange foods resonate on the same vibration as the sacral chakra and will work to bring it into balance and harmony. Given the location of this chakra, the foods that work to nourish it aide in optimal reproductive and urinary tract health.
Foods that are connected to bearing life are also related to this chakra. Seeds are among the healthiest foods that we can consume and especially important to this chakra, as they are literally life bearing items. Fermented foods are technically still living, so they work to support this chakra as well.
While the list below is certainly not comprehensive, it should give you a good idea of how to start eating to nourish your sacral chakra.
Even though items like fish, nuts and seeds are healthy, they all contain fat, so as with anything, it is important to maintain a healthy balance with all the foods that you are consuming.
Another thing I'd like to bring your attention to is the use of oil while cooking. The smoke point is the temperature at which the oil will start to smoke when heated and therefore create carcinogens, so it's important to be mindful of how you're using your oils. I tend to cook with grapeseed oil since it has a higher smoke point and I will use olive oil as a finishing oil or in non-heated applications (salad dressings).
What are some of your favorite sacral chakra foods? Let me know in the comments below!
