Food is one of the best tools that we can use on a daily basis to nourish not only our physical bodies, but our energetic bodies. Energy is able to move easiest through natural, unprocessed food, as it is of the Earth, it is what our bodies were created to consume. We have to eat to fuel ourselves, so let's make sure that we are putting clean, healthy food in that allows us to get the most out of it!
There are a number of different categories of food that support optimal root chakra function. Since the root chakra vibrates on a red frequency, naturally red fruits, vegetables and spices complement this chakras functions. Foods that grow deep within the Earth or that are roots themselves also help to provide balance to this chakra.
This chakra is connected with immune, skeletal and adrenal functions which are supported by the naturally red foods, as they often high in vitamin C. Below you will find a list of foods that support optimal root chakra function, and while this is not a comprehensive list, there should be plenty of ideas to get you started on nourishing that root chakra.
You may have noticed that I listed lean meats on the infographic because there are people who do eat meat and I have had clients ask me where meat fits in when we talk about healthy eating for chakras. As with any balanced diet, moderation is key. For me, I find that consuming meat is grounding and helps me out when I am needing to work on being present in my body.
If you do choose to consume animal based protein, it is important to be conscientious of the conditions it was raised in, what it was fed and the overall manner in which it has been cared for (farm raised, organic, Kosher, etc.). All of these are factors in the energy it will carry, and thus what you will consume into your energy when you eat it. If you do eat meat, I strongly recommend that you do your best to source your meat locally (directly from your local farm, if possible). If you are unable to purchase meat directly from a farmer, make sure that you are purchasing organic. If you're purchasing beef, make sure that it is grass-fed. In terms of energy and vibration, I feel the best and the lightest when I consume fish and poultry, for example, over beef and pork. When I eat beef, I tend to feel the heavy, dense energy that the large cows embody. I do my best to stay away from pork as it has the densest vibration of all meat and is counterproductive in high vibe healthy eating. What I do recommend is eating the full rainbow of natural foods, building up from a strong root chakra, helping to keep all the other chakras in alignment. Listen to your body as you begin to introduce new foods into your diet and make sure you're consuming a healthy balance of carbohydrates, fats and proteins (macronutrients).
