I grew up in somewhat of a food-centric family, which has catapulted me into what some may describe as a “foodie”.
As a child, we ate dinner at my grandparent's house almost weekly. My grandpa Armand would create elaborate spreads of different salads and hors d’oeuvres. Platters brimming with vegetables, antipasto, sauces and whatever creations he dreamed up were omnipresent — every, single, meal. His hearty, homemade soup was a welcome favorite in during cold Chicago winters. Our family meals would often entail long discussions of meals previously enjoyed, restaurants visited, and would likely include plans of the next meal to be consumed, even before the present one had ended. Food was my grandfather’s love language. His meals were revered, and if you were lucky enough to have him cook for you, it would likely be a meal you’d remember a lifetime.
I have some of my fondest memories with him in the kitchen, and I was privy to many of his secrets. Even though I know the recipes he used, it took me a long time to figure out why his food actually tasted so good. It certainly wasn’t the ingredients themselves, as they were often the most basic ingredients available, mixed with whatever was on sale that week.
It was his energy, love and blessings that he mixed into every morsel he made that made it taste so good. I’m willing to bet that if you were to think about some of your favorite meals and the most delicious food you’ve ever eaten, it was likely prepared for you with love. This may have been from a family member, similar to my experience, or by someone else who has a deep love and passion for food. Infusing different energies into food makes them taste better! Anytime that I am not the one preparing my food, I will infuse it with my energy, attuning it to my personal vibration. Doing this helps my body to process and digest it better, in addition to making it taste better! Curious? Try it for yourself! Grab yourself a snack and take a bite. Feel into how it tastes to you — sweet, salty, bland, etc. After you’ve enjoyed the first bite, take a moment to infuse it with the energy of pure love! If you’ve never done it, it’s simple, pass your hand over the food with the intention of unconditional love radiating out of your hand and into the food. Take another bite and see how it tastes after being infused with the energy. How does it taste? In my experiences, it enhances and elevates the flavor profiles making it more palatable to my tastes. I’ve had people tell me that food tastes sweeter and fresher when doing this exercise. When I do this in restaurants, people tend to think that I’m praying over my food. Praying over food and drink is common method in which energy is infused into daily nourishment. You can try experimenting infusing your food with different types of energy and see how it affects the taste and your enjoyment of the food.
I can't wait to hear about your experiences with infusing your food and drink with energies! Please feel free to leave a comment below and let me know how it goes for you!
