Learning to Trust your Intuition

​Have you ever had a feeling deep inside that told you what to do or not to do, but you weren't sure if it was just your imagination or something real? That feeling is called intuition, and it can be a powerful guide in decision-making if you learn to trust it.
​Intuition is a gut feeling or instinct that comes from our subconscious mind. It is not based on logical reasoning or conscious thinking but rather an instinctive sense. While intuition can be a valuable guide, it can also be confusing, especially if we're not used to listening to it.

How to Trust Your Intuition

  • Practice mindfulness: Mindfulness is a way of paying attention to the present moment. It helps us to be aware of our thoughts, emotions, and bodily sensations. Practicing mindfulness can help us to recognize when our intuition is speaking to us.
  • Listen to your body: Our bodies can give us clues about what our intuition is telling us. For example, if you feel a knot in your stomach or your heart starts to race when you think about a decision, it might be a sign that your intuition is telling you something.
  • Pay attention to your dreams: Dreams can be a way for our intuition to communicate with us. Pay attention to recurring themes or symbols in your dreams, as they may hold important messages. (Please note: Not all dreams have messages, some dreams are just dreams)
  • Trust your first impression: Our initial gut feeling is often our intuition. Trust your first impression, and don't second-guess yourself.
  • Keep a journal: Writing down your thoughts and feelings can help you to recognize patterns in your intuition. Keep a journal and write down any hunches or gut feelings.

Is it Intuition or Outside Sources?

  • Differentiate between intuition and fear: Sometimes, our intuition can be confused with fear. It's important to differentiate between the two. Intuition usually feels calm and grounded, while fear is often accompanied by anxiety and panic.
  • Tune out distractions: External distractions can cloud our intuition. Turn off your phone and find a quiet place to listen to your inner voice.
  • Practice discernment: Discernment is the ability to distinguish between different sources of information. Ask yourself how the information came into your presence. Which psychic sense did it affect? How did the information feel upon receiving it?
  • Check-in with your values: Intuition aligns with our values and what's important to us. If a decision doesn't align with your values, it may not be your intuition speaking to you.
  • Seek clarity: If you're unsure if your intuition is speaking to you, seek clarity. Talk to a trusted friend or mentor, or take time to reflect on the information received.
In conclusion, learning to trust your intuition takes practice and patience. It's important to tune out external distractions and pay attention to your inner voice. Remember to differentiate between intuition and fear, practice discernment, check in with your values, and seek clarity if you're unsure. Trusting your intuition can be a powerful decision-making tool and lead to a more fulfilling life.
