Top Signs Your House May Be Haunted

One of people's favorite things to talk about when they find out I'm a psychic are all the crazy things that happen in their lives and around their homes. Almost all of the home stories end with the same follow up question, "do you think my house is haunted?"

I always giggle a little bit when I'm asked this question, because what isn't haunted at this point in modern society. Everything now is built up on ancient lands, so it's silly to think that nothing has ever crossed over within your property lines.

I think that people freak themselves out by using the word "haunted" when what's really happening is a Spirit trying to gain someone's attention.

Spirits that have not fully crossed over (completing the full cycle) and remain in the 4th dimension will often inhabit homes, buildings and lands that they once occupied while living.  I should note that this is different than Spirit Guides who are energetically connected with an individual, whereas the Spirits we are referring to here are connected energetically with the land or physical location. 

The main difference in interacting with Spirits versus Spirit Guides, or even departed family members is intention. Often times we may feel like a place is "haunted" if the interaction from a Spirit feels to be malevolent, annoying or frustrating. The vast majority of the time, the Spirit merely wants to be recognized and acknowledged, even though they typically cannot be seen in their present state. 

Since Spirits are no longer their own physical body, they are forced to use their energetic body to manipulate objects within our realm to gain our attention. This can look like any number of things, including:

• hearing voices talking or laughing
• hearing TVs or music
• hearing sounds like other people are walking in the house
  
• hearing children playing or running through the halls 
• doors, windows, cabinets, and drawers opening and closing on their own
• unexplainable drafts or gusts of wind in locations in the home that should not have airflow
• fans, lights or any other electrical item turning on and off on their own accord
• seeing an actual ghost or seeing shadows moving in and out of sight
• rapid change in room temperature 
• animals acting erratically or like there are others in the room
